Sierra Tel Business Systems
Sierra Tel provides a 100% digital fiber optic network for phone & internet services to 775 square miles of consumers who don’t get the same signal as the bigger cities in CA. Just south of Yosemite National Park, they’ve provided telecommunications services to the area for over 125 years - just 19 years after the 1st telephone was patented!
If you like office cubicles with glass, you’ll love the corporate office design we provided for Sierra Tel’s accounting department. This office floor plan is an interesting balance between high privacy and high visibility.
We fully wrapped every desk station with 67” high cubicle walls, with just a narrow entry to each work area. But the top half of all desk partitions are clear glass, so everyone can still smile at their neighbor.
This office design from 2018 (and others like it) may prove to have been a wise investment. There is a very likely chance that most future office design will include a significant presence of plexiglass screens and barrier shields to minimize the pandemic risks of working in an open office.
Another priority that our office space planner needed to consider was the cubicle size. In a roughly 1,650 sq. ft. square room they wanted the biggest desks possible for 12 employees. Leaving just enough room to keep the aisle ways up to code, we squeezed as much desk area as possible into every square inch of the room.
Each worker has a large 8’x10’ U-shaped workstation packed full of office storage components to help manage their client files. We gave them under desk filing cabinets, 2 drawer lateral file cabinets, office cubicles shelves, locking storage bins, and hanging paper organizers.
Staying true to current office design trends we included a large standing work desk for every person to help encourage health and wellness in the workplace. The adjustable height corner desk curves around the entryway to each workstation, and smoothly glides up and down with the touch of a button.
