Centers For Care 2nd FL
OPS (Herman Miller AO2)
This was our second project with Centers For Specialty Care, an organization that provides medical care, rehabilitative treatment and health care services in 25 facilities throughout New York and New Jersey.
When they acquired an additional floor in their main administrative building, they came to us to plan and furnish 16,000 square feet.
Half the floor was for an affiliate company (Alpine Home Health Care), and pictured here is primarily used for Center’s sales, facilities management, and operations departments.
Like many companies with new office spaces, Centers wanted the latest and greatest trend – the “un-cubicle” approach to a large open office. They wanted minimal panels and low privacy, white finishes and an airy feel. They also needed very little physical storage areas, since most of their work and files are kept digitally. The light finishes complement the bright accent colors on the walls and columns in the space. We also added thin-profile frosted glass screens – these help keep the office feeling open, while giving the employees a bit of separation and privacy to focus on independent work. We only used panels as central spine support running up the middle of the areas, as this is still the most practical and affordable way to provide electrical and data access to each station.
