The story of this office furniture design project starts 3 years prior when Infogroup acquired a Chicago office space furnished with Allsteel Terrace work stations. Since the existing cubicle configuration didn’t apply to their workflow, we reconfigured the desk layout and preserved the leftover cubicle components in our local commercial storage facility.
For the next 3 years the company grew, and the office expanded. In the process of space planning for office reconfiguration we came across a one-in-a-million surprise: an inventory of used office furniture in Chicago that was an exact match to their existing cubicle furniture, all the way down to the finishes! This resulted in a huge cost savings for the client and allowed us to carry a consistent office aesthetic into the additional square footage.
We coordinated the office furniture installation in compliance with unique Chicago electrical requirements, which was made even easier because the used cubicles were already equipped with the proper wiring specifications.
